Product Description
SPEKTRIN® Siloxane is a high-quality clear penetrating sealer with superior water repellent properties to protect concrete and masonry from carbonation.
Penetrates, waterproofs and preserves porous substrates by sealing the pores, still allowing substrates to breath. It reduces the diffusion of water, salt solutions and carbon dioxide into the concrete, and reduces the chloride ion content of the pore
water. Eliminates cracking due to alkali-silica reaction (ASR).
Easy and cost effective to apply. Non-flammable, no odour, and safe to use.
The treatment is permanent and protects underlying substrate from heavy wind driven rain, detergents, motor oil, petrol, transmission fluid, solvents, de-icing chemicals and other common chemicals. Increasing the resistance to dirt why it makes cleaning easy.
The very good Sd-Value ensures optimum water vapour permeability why excess moisture can evaporate. Manufactured from an organosilicon in combination with siloxane, stabilizer and surfactant plus a 100% polymer resin.
Typical Applications
To achieve a high effectiveness water repellent coating which seals horizontal surfaces incl. hairline cracks (<0.3 mm) and prevents water to penetrate. Developed for such concrete constructions as balconies, bridges, columns, floors, viaducts, and similar.
The special high-quality coating protects the concrete from the adverse effects of acid rain and atmospheric pollution. Furthermore, it protects against freeze-thaw cracking. Decreases maintenance expenses and replacement costs at an early stage. For use both indoors and out.

Application Instructions
Substrates should be firm (surface strength 1.5-2.0 MPa), free from laitance and clean. The concrete must not be coated with any sealer or paint as product should be used on bare mineral substrates only.
Exceptional porous or open masonry surfaces such as aerated concrete blocks may require a rendering before coating can be economically undertaken.
Stir or shake container. Apply two full coats wet-in-wet in a continuous film. Calculate max. 150 ml per m2 and coat. Drying between subsequent coats is recommended.
SPEKTRIN PLUS can be used as first coat to reduce material consumption.
Accepts foot traffic after 12 hours and light vehicles after 72 hours.
One effect of the treatment is that smooth concrete after some months will get a soft gloss (shine) as satin. Which process can be accelerated by honing or polishing.
For detailed instructions, see Installation.
Notes: Product is corrosive (pH 10). Protect glass and metal surfaces to avoid etching.
Application temperature: | Above 5°C. Never apply when rain is imminent.
|
Possible to paint-over:
| Yes.
|
Tack-free time:
| 1-2 hours (at 20°C and 50% R.H.).
|
